FROM THE LAND TO THE WORKSHOP
MBG REEDS was born from a way of understanding work: from the origin, with knowledge and respect.
Our story begins in the countryside, on a plot of land cultivated for more than six decades by my grandfather, which remains in my family's hands today. Working with him—and now with the help of my uncle, a lifelong farmer and key player in this project—I understood that the true value of a material lies in how it is cared for, not in how it is disguised.
Here, Arundo Donax isn't just another resource: it's the beginning of everything. We select it carefully, treat it judiciously, and let each plant follow its own rhythm. Because a good cane begins long before the workshop, and each stage deserves its time.
At MBG REEDS, we don't work in a hurry or based on quantity. The reeds offered each season are what the terrain and natural processes allow. When they run out, we wait. Because craftsmanship isn't improvised: it's respected. This philosophy guides every decision, from the selection of raw materials to the last detail of the finished product.
We manufacture from tradition, but with a modern perspective.
Every model, every design, every technical choice comes from within: from the player, from the teacher, from the person who knows the instrument not only from the outside, but from the way it breathes. We know that every performer is different. Every sound has its own way of arriving. And our job is to accompany it, not dictate it.
It's a work philosophy that begins on the ground and makes sense when someone makes it sound.
